amika earns SeeMe Index “Certified Inclusive” distinction for the second year in a row

some achievements you earn once. the ones that matter, you earn again.
we’re proud to share that amika has once again been named a Certified Inclusive brand by the 2026 SeeMe Inclusivity Index for Beauty, earning the distinction for the second consecutive year.
now in its third year, the index has become a leading benchmark for inclusive representation in beauty: a transparent, data driven evaluation of consumer facing marketing efforts across advertising, products, websites, and brand purpose. this year, the index evaluated more than 200 beauty brands across the industry.
in this article:
what is the SeeMe Index?
the SeeMe Index uses responsible AI to evaluate everything a brand produces across a multitude of identity dimensions, including perceived ethnicity, hair type, gender expression, skin tone, age, body size, visible disability, and sexual orientation.
brands are scored and placed into one of four tiers, with Certified Inclusive representing the highest distinction. it’s not given, it’s earned. we're honored to earn our place for two years in a row.
here’s why that matters.
a single recognition can be a moment. two in a row is a movement. it’s proof that what we’re doing isn’t a campaign, it’s how we actually operate.
at amika, “all hair is welcome” has never been just a line on packaging. it’s the brief. it shapes how we develop products formulated for every hair type and texture, how we cast our campaigns, who we partner with, and the communities we invest in.
through our Friend to Hair Stylist Scholarship, we support the next generation of BIPOC and LGBTQ+ hairstylists pursuing careers in the industry. through the Rooted in Growth Grant and Mentorship Program, we invest in BIPOC and LGBTQ+ brand founders working toward a more equitable beauty industry. inclusivity runs through the whole business, not just the marketing calendar.
and the data reflects it. research from Circana and the SeeMe Index found that Certified Inclusive brands grew 1.8x faster than less inclusive competitors. when people feel genuinely seen, they connect more deeply with brands.
here’s what Asha Shivaji, co-founder of SeeMe Index, had to say:
“congratulations to amika for earning SeeMe Index’s Certified Inclusive distinction for the second year in a row, a clear signal of industry leadership. brands that reach this level aren’t making incremental moves, they are embedding inclusivity across every aspect of their business, from ads to product to purpose. amika’s consistency and commitment reflect what it takes to lead in today’s beauty landscape and why inclusive brands continue to outperform.”

Asha Shivaji
and from amika’s chief marketing officer, Nilofer Vahora:
“being recognized as a Certified Inclusive brand for the second year in a row is incredibly meaningful because it reflects the intentional work happening across every part of amika. ‘All Hair is Welcome’ has never been just a tagline for us. it shapes how we develop products, tell stories, build partnerships, and show up for our community every day. to receive this recognition again reinforces that inclusivity is not a moment for our brand, it’s part of how we operate. we’re proud of the progress we’ve made and committed to continuing the work.”

what’s next
this recognition means a lot to us, and it also raises the bar for what we hold ourselves to. we’ll keep building, keep listening, and keep showing up for every texture, every identity, and every story that walks through our doors.
