amika’s new DEI + Giving Back partnerships
As a brand, we have always championed self-expression, individuality, and diversity. As part of our refocused DEI and Giving Back strategy, we recently announced the launch of our “Friend to Hair” scholarship program with Beauty Changes Lives as well as our partnership with SoGal Foundation to launch the “Rooted in Growth” Startup Grant Program. As a friend to hair, hairstylists, people, and the planet, we continue to donate at least 1% of profits to causes focused on progressing people and increasing equity within the beauty and hair industry.
amika x Beauty Changes Lives
Beauty Changes Lives is a nonprofit that supports beauty professionals throughout their career journey. We are proud to partner with them to launch the “Friend to Hair” scholarship program, which offers two scholarships to fund BIPOC and LGBTQIA+ to attend beauty school. As a salon-raised brand, we want to make a difference in our future stylists’ lives and invest in the next generation of professionals, thereby increasing equity in salons and chairs.
amika x SoGal Foundation
amika is partnering with the SoGal Foundation to launch the “Rooted in Growth” Startup Grant Program. This program is created for underrepresented entrepreneurs and will provide grants of $25,000 to four haircare founders and innovators who identify as female or nonbinary (for the full criteria, click here). These grants will work to give both longevity and sustainability in their business, which is why amika is also offering a mentorship program to support brands across professional distribution, marketing, finance, and more.
HairToStay
We’re proud to continue partnering with HairToStay for the fifth year in a row. HairToStay is a nonprofit dedicated to helping cancer patients afford scalp cooling treatments, which can dramatically reduce chemotherapy-induced hair loss. We donate 1% of all e-commerce sales to HairToStay, while also giving the option to add an additional donation at checkout. Each year, we feature a limited-edition product to further support HairToStay in our efforts to help HairToStay reach their mission.
