Hi, friends! As you may or may not know, transparency is an integral part of our brand that continues to be of the utmost importance. That being said, we wanted to let you know about a product that is being discontinued, why it’s being discontinued, and what you can use in the meantime if you were actively using that product.

Nice cream cleansing conditioner is unfortunately being discontinued from our line. This co-wash sat in our curl collection and was a one-step, no-lather co-wash that gently cleansed and weightlessly hydrated curls, coils and waves. Co-washing is a technique mostly used by those with dry, wavy or curly, coarse or medium-textured, and/or color-treated hair. So, you may be thinking, why on earth is amika discontinuing this product?

why is nice cream cleansing conditioner being discontinued?

It always makes us sad when a product gets put into our discontinued category, however, getting rid of the old means we’re making way for something new. Innovation is a top priority for amika; we’re always looking into how we can innovate and make our formulas even better for our friends. Technologies, ingredient innovations, and customer needs are constantly evolving, and we want to stay on the pulse of trends to deliver best-in-class products.

The 250 ml + liter size of nice cream cleansing conditioner is sold out, but you still have a chance to stock up! use code NICE25 for 25% off 3 or more deluxe minis while supplies last.

We don’t want to ruin the surprise just yet, but know that an even better and innovative replacement will be making its way to you soon.

what do I use in the meantime?

If you were a lover of the nice cream cleansing conditioner, your heart probably just sank reading this. But, have no fear! We have some amazing recommendations for you in the meantime while we’re cooking up our next innovation:

  • Use your favorite amika conditioner: the co-wash method just means washing with a conditioner, so you can use any amika conditioner as a cowash! We just don’t recommend 3D volumizing conditioner or reset cooling gel conditioner, as they are not as moisturizing.
  • the kure bond repair shampoo + conditioner: our most moisturizing wash care system that is gentle enough for use every wash.
  • reset pink charcoal scalp cleansing oil / reset exfoliating jelly shampoo + soulfood nourishing mask: this isn't exactly a replacement for nice cream cleansing conditioner, but an alternative wash option to remove build up and deeply condition hair.
  • Your favorite amika shampoo + vault color-lock leave-in conditioner: vault leave-in helps detangle and conditions in one step!
